Client Profiles and Login Options for Scanning in Styku Studio

Yes, Styku Studio requires a client profile for every scan. The software uses each client's height, age, and biological sex to calculate accurate body composition results and track their progress over time. However, V5 introduces several features that make creating and managing profiles faster and easier than before — including the ability to scan clients without requiring them to use a QR code or download the mobile app during the appointment.

Important: In Studio, the client — the person being scanned — must log in to their scan profile before scanning begins, not the scanner administrator. Two login methods are available, described in detail below.

Why a Profile Is Required

Body composition measurements — such as body fat percentage and lean mass — are calculated using the client's personal data. Without a profile, the software cannot produce accurate results or track changes between scans.

V5 now asks you to select or create a client profile before starting a scan, rather than after. This change was made to improve the security and privacy of client data. The core workflow is essentially the same as in previous versions — the main difference is the timing of the profile step.

Features That Speed Up the Workflow

  • QR Code Login: Clients can scan a QR code with their phone camera to log in quickly. This is the recommended and fastest way to log in and start scanning. Downloading the Styku mobile app before the appointment is recommended for this option.
  • Email Login: Clients can alternatively select Option 2: Login and scan with your email address and enter their email address directly at the scanning station. No QR code or app download is required during the appointment.
  • Pre-Registration via Mobile App: Clients can create their accounts ahead of time by downloading the Styku mobile app and registering there. When they arrive to scan, they can log in using the QR code option — the fastest way to get started.
  • Fast Profile Creation for New Clients: If a client does not yet have an account, a new profile can be created at the scanning station during the email login flow.
  • Returning Clients: For repeat clients who have scanned at the same location before, their profile will be found automatically when they enter their email address, and the scan can begin in seconds.

How to Start a Scan

Styku Studio offers two login methods. In both cases, the client — not the administrator — logs in to their profile before scanning begins.

Option 1: Scan Using QR Code (Recommended)

  1. Open Styku Studio on the scanner laptop.
  2. The client scans the QR code on the screen using their phone camera. (Downloading the Styku app beforehand is recommended.)

Note: The QR code on the Studio home screen is generated fresh before every session and cannot be saved or exported — it is meant to be scanned on the screen in real time.   1. Select Continue on the welcome screen.
  2. The system checks the sensor and turntable automatically.
  3. Confirm the client is wearing proper scan attire.
  4. The client steps onto the turntable for weight measurement. If weight is not detected, enter weight manually.
  5. The client assumes the A-pose and aligns until the pose frames turn green.
  6. The scan begins — the client remains still while spinning.
  7. After processing, the client reviews the scan and selects Accept or Scan Again. ⚠️ Scan Again deletes the scan and restarts the process. If predicted measurements are shown, a rescan is recommended unless the scan looks acceptable.
  8. Once accepted, the client may review results in the software or log out.

Option 2: Scan Using Email (No QR Code or App Required)

Use this method to scan clients without asking them to scan a QR code or download the mobile app during the appointment.

  1. Open Styku Studio on the scanner laptop.
  2. From the home screen, select Option 2: Login and scan with your email address.
  3. Enter the client's email address to create or look up their profile.
    • New client: You will be prompted to create a new profile.
    • Returning client (existing profile found): The client is prompted to enter their birth date to confirm identity. Birth date must match what is stored on the profile. If it does not match, retry — there is no retry limit, and no staff override. If you can't get past the birth date check, use the QR code login path instead, which has no birth date step.
  4. The system checks the sensor and turntable automatically.
  5. Confirm the client is wearing proper scan attire.
  6. The client steps onto the turntable for weight measurement. If weight is not detected, enter weight manually.
  7. The client assumes the A-pose and aligns until the pose frames turn green.
  8. The scan begins — the client remains still while spinning.
  9. After processing, review the scan and select Accept or Scan Again.

    ⚠️ Scan Again deletes the scan and restarts the process. If predicted measurements are shown, a rescan is recommended unless the scan looks acceptable.

  10. Once accepted, the client may review results in the software or log out.

Letting Clients Access Their Results After the Appointment

After the scan is complete, clients can view their 3D body, measurements, and progress on their own device by downloading the Styku mobile app:

  • Apple App Store — search for Styku
  • Google Play Store — search for Styku

Clients log in using the same email address used to create their profile. This keeps your appointment workflow fast while still giving clients independent access to their data on their own time.


Admin Access

To view client profiles or access settings, administrators log in separately using their PIN code via the button near the bottom of the window (or by tapping View Profile Only from the home screen and entering the Admin PIN). This is distinct from the client login used to initiate a scan.
