Some hardware failures cannot be resolved by reconnecting cables, restarting the software, or swapping power adapters. If Styku support has worked through standard troubleshooting steps with you and the turntable still does not function correctly, they may determine that the unit needs to be replaced entirely.
Common signs that a turntable may have a hardware failure include:
- The turntable does not power on at all
- The turntable does not rotate during a scan
- The scale does not register weight or gives inconsistent readings
- The turntable is not detected by the software even after trying a different USB cable or port
Before concluding that the unit requires replacement, confirm that the following standard troubleshooting steps have been attempted:
- Rotation check: Log in as an administrator, press the Tools button, and use the Start/Stop Turntable option to test whether the turntable rotates independently of a scan. If the turntable does not respond to this control, this is a strong indicator of a hardware fault.
- Weight scale check: Log in as an administrator, press the Tools button, select "Use Weight Scale," and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm whether the scale registers weight at all.

What does the replacement process look like?

What replacement unit will I receive?
Replacement units are determined by Styku based on availability and your specific situation. In some cases, customers have received a different turntable model as a replacement for a failed V6 unit. For reference, the standard Styku rotating scale platform measures 66 cm × 66 cm × 12.5 cm, supports a maximum load of 250 kg (550 lbs), and completes approximately one full revolution every 35 seconds.
