Why was 'Total Inches Lost' removed in Styku Studio V5, and will it come back?
The Total Inches Lost summary metric was removed as part of the Styku Studio V5 software update. We understand this metric was a valuable tool for quickly showing clients their progress, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption this has caused to your workflow. Our product team is aware of the feedback and is working to bring this metric back in a future software update.
What Changed
In Styku Studio V5, the scan comparison view was updated. As part of those changes, the Total Inches Lost summary figure — which previously gave a single combined number representing overall measurement reductions between two scans — is no longer displayed.
What You Can Do Right Now
While the metric is not currently available as a summary figure, individual body measurements are still visible in the scan comparison view. You can manually reference these to communicate progress with your clients.
Additionally, you can customize which pages appear in scan and progress PDF reports sent to clients. To adjust report pages:
- Open the Styku app and choose View Profiles, and enter your PIN.
- Choose the Settings option.
- Find the Reports and Sharing option, and select it.
- Press the Advanced button and log in using your Styku administrator account.
- Inside the Advanced settings you will find Progress Report Pages and Scan Report Pages. Opening these will give you a list of pages you can add or remove from either report.
Note: changes to report pages will apply to all reports sent from the software going forward.
A Note on Your Existing Scan Data
Updating to the latest version of Styku Studio will not cause you to lose any scans or customer profiles. Your previous data may be re-measured to use the latest measurements, but all scan history and customer profile information remains intact, stored both on your local computer and on Styku's cloud servers.
What We're Doing About It
Your feedback has been shared directly with the Styku product team. The team recognizes how important Total Inches Lost is to fitness professionals — especially during back-to-back scanning sessions — and is actively working to re-implement it in an upcoming software update. We do not have a confirmed release date to share at this time, but we will communicate changes through software update announcements.
How to Stay on the Latest Software Version
To ensure you have access to improvements and fixes as they are released, keep your Styku Studio software up to date. The latest version is always available at the Styku software download page. Note that the update process typically takes 10–30 minutes to complete, so plan accordingly. Before beginning an update, disconnect your Styku turntable and sensor from the computer.
