Why is the keyboard not working or not appearing in Styku Studio?
Why is the keyboard not working or not appearing in Styku Studio?
If the keyboard isn't appearing or responding in Styku Studio, you can usually fix this by enabling the Windows on-screen keyboard or adjusting a setting inside the app. If the physical keyboard or touchscreen hardware is faulty, you may need to replace the device.
Step 1: Enable the On-Screen Keyboard in Styku Studio
Styku Studio has a built-in setting to show the on-screen keyboard. Check both of these locations:
- Open Styku Studio on your computer.
- Look in the Tools menu for an on-screen keyboard option and make sure it is turned on.
- Alternatively, go to Settings → Hardware and check whether the on-screen keyboard is enabled there.
Step 2: Enable the Windows On-Screen Keyboard
If the Styku Studio setting doesn't resolve it, try turning on the Windows on-screen keyboard directly:
- Press Windows key + Ctrl + O on your keyboard. This toggles the Windows on-screen keyboard on and off.
- If you don't have a physical keyboard available, use the Windows touch keyboard instead:
- Tap the keyboard icon in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar (system tray area).
- If you don't see it, right-click the taskbar and select Show touch keyboard button.
Step 3: Check for Windows Updates
Outdated Windows software can sometimes cause input issues.
- Click the Start button and open Settings.
- Go to Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
- Restart the computer and test the keyboard again.
Step 4: Verify Your Styku Studio Version
Make sure you are running the latest version of Styku Studio.
- You can check your version number inside the app under Help or About.
- If you are on an older version, download the latest Styku Studio software and log in to your existing Styku account when prompted.
- If you are unsure which version to download, contact Styku support for guidance.
If the Hardware Is Faulty
If you have tried all the steps above and the physical keyboard or touchscreen still does not respond, the device itself may need to be replaced.
Important: Styku Studio runs on Windows only. An iPad or other Apple device is not compatible and cannot run Styku Studio. Any replacement computer must meet these minimum requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 11
- RAM: 8 GB or more
- Storage: 256 GB SSD or more
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or equivalent
- Display: Touchscreen recommended
If you purchase a replacement computer, you can install the Styku Studio software on it and log in to your existing Styku account. You will need a viewing license key to activate the device under your account. If you do not have a viewing license key, send a request to Styku using the Business Portal (https://styku.com/portal) and Styku will generate one for you.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
If the problem persists, contact support and include: your Styku Studio version number, your computer make and model (search "System Information" in the Windows Start menu to find this), a description of which keyboard types you have tried (on-screen, physical, or touch), and whether any error messages appear on screen.
