Why does Styku ask clients to enter their weight manually after a software update?
After a software update, Styku Studio may automatically disable the weight scale setting, causing the app to ask clients to type in their weight instead of measuring it automatically. You can fix this by turning the weight scale setting back on in the Styku Studio settings menu.
How to Re-Enable Automatic Weight Measurement
- Open Styku Studio on your scanner laptop.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap or click View Profiles.
- When prompted, enter your PIN to access settings.
- Navigate to the Settings menu.
- Find the Weight Scale setting.
- Toggle the weight scale ON.
Once the toggle is enabled, Styku Studio will automatically measure your client's weight via the turntable scale at the start of each scan — no manual entry needed.
Why Does This Happen?
Software updates can occasionally reset certain settings back to their defaults. The weight scale feature is one setting that may be affected. If you install a future update and notice manual weight entry has returned, check this setting first.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
If the problem persists, contact support and include: your scanner model, your current version of Styku Studio, and a description of what you see on screen when the weight scale toggle is already set to ON.
Applies to: Styku Studio V5, all Styku scanner models with a built-in weight scale (X2L, X2, X2 Pro, S100)
