Why didn't my viewing computer update when my scanner updated?

When Styku releases a software update, it does not automatically install on every computer running Styku Studio. Each computer needs to be updated separately. If your scanner computer updated but your viewing computer did not, you will need to download and install the latest version of Styku Studio on the viewing computer manually.

Why This Happens

Your scanner computer and your viewing computer are two separate machines. A software update applied to one does not carry over to the other. This means your viewing computer can fall behind and run an older version of Styku Studio until you update it manually.

How to Update Styku Studio on Your Viewing Computer

  1. Log in to the Styku Business Portal at https://www.styku.com/portal.
  2. Find the Downloads section and download the latest version of Styku Studio.
  3. Open the downloaded installer file on your viewing computer.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  5. Once installation is complete, open Styku Studio.
  6. When prompted, enter your viewing license key to reactivate the software.

Finding Your Viewing License Key

Your viewing license key is available in the Styku Business Portal under your account details. It is a separate key from the license key used on your scanner computer. If you cannot locate it, contact Styku Support through the business portal at https://www.styku.com/portal and they can look it up for you.

After the Update

Once installation is complete, confirm that the version number shown in Styku Studio on your viewing computer matches the version on your scanner computer. You can usually find the version number in the Settings or About section of the app.

If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.

If the problem persists, contact support and include: the version number currently showing on your viewing computer, the version number on your scanner computer, and your viewing license key.
