Why can't I log in to Styku Studio or complete the password reset?
If your login credentials have stopped working or the password reset flow is failing, this article covers the most common causes and fixes. If self-service steps don't work, Styku Support can reset your credentials manually.
First: know which system you're logging in to
Styku has two separate logins with separate passwords:
- Styku Studio — the desktop app on your scanner laptop, used to perform scans and view results.
- Styku Business Portal — the website where you manage your subscription, license key, training, and support tickets.
Make sure you know which one you need before troubleshooting, and tell support which one you can't access when you reach out.
Quick checks before contacting support
- Use the most recent password reset email — earlier codes expire and only the latest one works.
- Copy and paste the verification code from the email rather than typing it.
- Try in a different browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) or an incognito/private window.
- If you're on a VPN or have network security software running, temporarily disable it and retry.
- Confirm you're using the exact email address registered to your Styku account — if multiple staff share the system, verify which email was used to create the admin account.
How to update your admin credentials yourself (when you have access)
If you currently have access to your account and want to update your email or password proactively:
- Open Styku Studio and press Settings.
- Scroll down and select Accounts and Privacy Controls.
- Log in with your current administrator credentials. Press Forgot Password if needed.
- Choose Administrator Account and follow the on-screen instructions to update your information.
Avoid role-based email addresses like
admin@orinfo@as your registered email — access to these is easily lost when staff change.
Contact support for a manual reset
If the steps above don't work, submit a support ticket through the Styku Business Portal at styku.com/portal. Support can reset your password directly and send you new credentials.
Once support resets your credentials, log in with the temporary password provided and change it immediately.
If you also need your license key, ask support to provide it at the same time.
If Styku Studio asks for your license key after a reset
After a password reset, Styku Studio may prompt you to reactivate your license. If you see a license key entry screen:
- Locate your license key — it's printed on the user guide/card in your scanner's accessory box, and also available in the Styku Business Portal at styku.com/portal.
- Enter the key exactly as shown, including the dashes.
- Select Activate to complete the process.
Tips to avoid getting locked out again
- Use a shared business email as your admin account address rather than a personal one, so multiple staff can access password resets.
- Store your admin password in a secure password manager and ensure at least one other trusted staff member knows it.
- Keep your license key saved somewhere easy to find — you may need it after a software update or if the laptop is replaced. It's always available in the Business Portal.
- Your Styku Business Portal login and your Styku Studio administrator account are separate credentials — keep track of both.
- The admin PIN (used to access View Profiles and admin settings inside Studio) is also separate from your administrator account email and password. Keep track of all three.
If the problem persists, include in your support ticket: the email address on your account, which system you can't access (Styku Studio or Business Portal), the exact error or screen you see, and whether you're on a new or recently changed computer.
