How should I prepare for a Styku 3D body scan?
Getting a great Styku scan comes down to a few simple steps: wearing the right clothing, putting your hair up, and knowing how to stand during the scan. Nothing else is required.
What to wear
The Styku scanner captures the outer surface of your body — it cannot see through clothing. Loose or baggy items will be recorded as part of your body shape and reduce measurement accuracy.
Wear form-fitting, shape-revealing clothing:
| Recommended
**Women** | Sports bra and fitted leggings
**Men** | Compression shorts, no shirt
Avoid loose shirts, baggy shorts, layered clothing, or anything that bunches or folds.
Hair
Long hair must be pulled up and off the neck and shoulders — a bun, ponytail, or clip all work. Hair resting on the shoulders is captured by the scanner and can distort neck and shoulder measurements.
Jewelry and accessories
Remove jewelry, watches, and bulky accessories where practical. These items sit on the body surface and can be captured as part of your shape.
What you don't need to do
You do not need to fast or avoid exercise before your scan. Styku uses infrared 3D imaging — unlike some other body composition tools that use electrical signals, it is not affected by what you have eaten or how recently you exercised. Schedule your appointment at whatever time is convenient.
How to stand during the scan
When you step onto the turntable:
- Stand on the footprints, facing the sensor tower.
- Raise your arms to shoulder height, then lower them until they are approximately 8 inches (20 cm) away from your sides. This is called the A-pose — the software will show guides on screen to help you align.
- Remain still and breathe normally while the turntable rotates. The rotation takes approximately 35 seconds.
Consistency matters
If you scan regularly, wear the same type of clothing each time. Consistent attire helps ensure that changes in your measurements reflect actual body changes — not differences in what you wore.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
