What happens during a Styku onboarding session, and what does it cover?

What happens during a Styku onboarding session, and what does it cover?

Your Styku onboarding session is a live, one-on-one video call with a Styku service representative. It covers everything you need to start scanning confidently, from unboxing and setup to running your first scan. After the call, you'll receive a follow-up email recapping what was covered and linking you to helpful resources.

Note for customers who purchased equipment from a third-party reseller or private party: Per Styku's terms of service, equipment purchases not made through a Styku sales agent are subject to additional fees in order to access the Styku Service and operate the equipment. These fees cover securing the previous owner's account and data, creating new account licensing and permissions, onboarding, training, and after-sales agent access.

How to Schedule Your Onboarding Call

Your onboarding call is typically scheduled before or shortly after your scanner arrives. If you haven't booked yours yet, contact Styku Support and a representative will send you a scheduling link to pick a time that works for you.

What the Onboarding Session Covers

1. Hardware & Setup

  • Confirm all boxes arrived and all components are present (camera tower, laptop, turntable, accessories, and user guide with license key)
  • Verify all cables are connected correctly — USB cable from camera tower to laptop, USB and power adapter for the turntable
  • Confirm the turntable is powered on and the laptop recognizes all connected hardware

2. Environment Setup

  • Review lighting requirements — avoid direct sunlight or bright ambient daylight in the scan area
  • Confirm correct placement of the turntable with adequate clearance on all sides
  • Check wall color and background to avoid scan interference

3. Software Activation

  • Launch Styku Studio on the laptop (it comes pre-installed)
  • Create your administrator account
  • Enter your license key (printed in the user guide) to activate the software
  • Confirm the software is fully operational before the call ends

4. Scanning Best Practices

  • How to instruct clients to stand in the correct A-frame stance — feet apart, arms slightly away from the body
  • Recommended client attire — form-fitting clothing, hair up, no shoes or socks
  • The importance of staying still during the approximately 30-second capture
  • Tips for designating a consistent "scanning outfit" for reliable progress tracking

5. Software Walkthrough

  • Navigating the Styku Studio dashboard
  • Accessing key reports: 3D body visualization, circumference measurements, and body composition (if included in your package)
  • Sending scan reports to clients
  • Overview of the modules included in your package and how they apply to your business

6. Business Portal Overview

  • Logging into the Styku Business Portal
  • Completing the onboarding checklist tasks in the portal (see the full six-task checklist described below)
  • Finding your license key, training materials, and marketing resources in the portal
  • Adding additional team members to the portal if needed

The Six-Task Onboarding Checklist

After purchasing a Styku scanner, customers are guided through a six-task onboarding checklist in the Business Portal. The checklist tracks progress and links to required resources:

  1. Attend an Orientation — Styku offers weekly orientations at rotating times and days to introduce new customers to the Styku 3D Body Scanner and the Business Portal.
  2. Add Additional Team Members — Invite staff or managers to the portal so they can access training, resources, and support tools.
  3. Complete Certification Course 1: Software Features, Scan Analysis, and Reports — 13 lessons covering how to set up and use Styku's body scanning software, analyze results, and share reports with clients.
  4. Complete Certification Course 2: Health Assessments and Body Composition Analysis — 12 lessons covering health assessment methods and body composition analysis. Upon passing, customers receive a certification code (e.g., the Advanced Body Composition Model certification code) to unlock the Advanced model on their system.
  5. Set Up Your Scanner — Follow the hardware setup instructions to physically install and configure the scanner.
  6. Complete Your First Scan — Power on the scanner and complete a test scan. Perform two additional scans to verify the scanner's precision.

Note: After receiving your certification code from Course 2, follow the help article instructions for enabling the Advanced Model on your scanner.

Complete the checklist tasks in the Business Portal as soon as possible. Pay special attention to both certification courses — they provide the foundational knowledge to use Styku effectively from day one.
