What does 'off track' mean in a Styku scan result?

What does "off track" mean in a Styku scan result?

In Styku Studio, the red health tag on a measurement means that metric is in a high-risk range — what clients often describe as "off track." It is not an error in the scan. It is Styku's way of flagging that the client's current value for that metric falls in a zone associated with elevated health risk, based on established clinical and scientific thresholds.

The three-color tag system

Every key metric in Styku Studio displays a color-coded health tag:

Color | Meaning

**Green** | Within a healthy or low-risk range

**Yellow** | Borderline — approaching a higher-risk range

**Red ("off track")** | In a high-risk range — warrants attention and discussion

Tags appear on individual metrics (body fat %, waist circumference, BMI, WHR, WHtR, TLVR) as well as on the overall Shape Score and Health Score.

What triggers a red tag on Shape Score?

Shape Score combines three inputs: body fat percentage, Muscle-Fat Index, and Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR). A red tag on Shape Score means the overall score has fallen below a meaningful threshold, driven by one or more of those inputs.

To identify which input is dragging the score down:

  1. Open the Shape Score card in Styku Studio.
  2. Review the three component metrics individually — each has its own color tag.
  3. The component(s) showing red or yellow are the factors to address.

A red tag on Shape Score does not mean all three components are in the red — it often means one is significantly below target. Reviewing the breakdown helps focus the client conversation.

How to explain a red tag to a client

A red tag is a conversation starter, not a diagnosis. Suggested framing:

"This red tag means this measurement is in a range that research has linked to higher health risk over time. It doesn't mean anything is wrong today — it means this is a metric we'll want to focus on improving."

Styku is not a diagnostic device. It does not diagnose disease or confirm any health condition. The tags reflect general population risk thresholds, not individual medical assessments.

What to do when a metric shows red

  • Review the metric's definition and risk category (see the BMI, WHR, WHtR, TLVR article for thresholds).
  • Use the Health Score breakdown to see if disease risk indicators align.
  • Set a goal in Styku Studio (Health Tab for inch-loss goals; Fitness Tab for fat-loss and lean-mass goals) and use follow-up scans to track progress.
  • For clinical concerns, refer the client to their healthcare provider.
