What are the 21 circumference measurements in the Styku Summary Report?
Overview
Page 2 of the Styku Summary Report includes 21 circumference measurements — the distance around specific locations on the body. A larger circumference may indicate greater fat, greater muscle mass, or both in that area. These measurements are grouped into upper extremity, trunk and hip, and lower extremity regions.
Upper Extremity Measurements (Neck and Arms)
Measurement | Location
**Neck** | Around the neckline
**Bicep** | Around the fullest part of the upper arm; positioned above Bicep Lower
**Bicep Lower** | Around the upper arm just above the elbow
**Forearm** | Around the lower arm between the wrist and elbow
Trunk and Hip Measurements
Note: Styku captures multiple waist and hip measurements to provide a more detailed picture of changes in those areas.
Measurement | Location
**Chest** | Around the chest, under the armpits
**Waist Narrowest** | Around the waist; first waist measurement below the chest
**Waist Abdominal** | Around the waist; below Waist Narrowest, at or just above the belly button
**Waist Lower** | Around the waist; below Waist Abdominal, near the hip bones
**High Hip** | Around the highest part of the hips; second-to-last measurement before the thigh measurements
**Hip** | Around the fullest part of the hips; last measurement before the thigh measurements
Lower Extremity Measurements (Thigh and Shin)
Measurement | Location
**Thigh Upper** | Around the highest part of the upper leg, just below the crotch point and under the gluteal crease
**Mid-Thigh** | Around the middle of the upper leg
**Thigh Lower** | Around the upper leg just above the knee
**Calf** | Around the lower leg between the ankle and the knee, visible around the shin
Notes
- A change in any circumference measurement over time may reflect a change in fat, muscle, or both — context from body composition metrics helps distinguish the cause.
- The three separate waist measurements (Narrowest, Abdominal, and Lower) allow practitioners to detect regional changes in the midsection that a single measurement would miss.
- Circumference measurements are best used in combination with body composition data to give clients a complete picture of their progress.
