How do I use posture data to build a corrective action plan for clients?
How do I use posture data to build a corrective action plan for clients?
Overview
Posture data is most valuable when it drives a clear, actionable plan. This article outlines a repeatable workflow for translating Styku posture results into corrective priorities and measurable progress.
Steps
Scan the client and open the Posture & Alignment module.
Check Shoulder Shift and Hip Shift to identify whether deviations exist and in which direction (left or right).
Use the grid overlay to make asymmetries visually clear to the client. This helps them understand and take ownership of the findings.
Explain the likely contributors. Common causes of postural deviation include:
- Muscular overactivity on one side (e.g., tight hip flexors, elevated shoulder muscles)
- Muscular underactivity on the opposite side
- Soft-tissue restrictions along myofascial lines (e.g., lateral or posterior slings)
Set 2–3 corrective priorities. Avoid overwhelming the client. Focus on the most impactful deviations first.
Build a plan and schedule a re-scan in 4–6 weeks to objectively measure progress.
Notes
- Posture assessment is most effective when made part of every client consultation, not just initial onboarding scans.
- Framing posture results as objective data—rather than a critique—helps clients stay engaged and motivated.
- The trends graph in Styku Studio provides built-in visual evidence of improvement over successive scans, which is a powerful motivational tool.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
If the problem persists, contact support and include: the client profile, scan dates, and a description of what data is not displaying as expected.
