How do I transfer a Styku license after buying a used scanner?
If you bought a used Styku scanner from another owner, the license tied to that scanner must be transferred to your business before you can use it. The previous owner must release the license on their end first, and then Styku's sales team will complete the transfer for you.
Important: Per Styku's Software License Terms, licenses are personal and non-transferable between accounts without Styku's involvement. You may not use, rent, sell, assign, loan, or otherwise transfer the software or any rights under the license agreement independently. Attempting to use a scanner without completing a proper license transfer is a breach of the license agreement.
What You'll Need Before You Start
Make sure the previous owner has already deactivated and released the license from their account. Without this step, the transfer cannot proceed.
Also have the following information ready — the sales team will need it to set up your new license:
- Full name (and business owner's name, if different)
- Email address
- Contact phone number
- Business name
- Industry (e.g., fitness, medical weight loss, aesthetics)
- State and country
How to Submit a License Transfer Request
- Go to the Styku Business Portal at styku.com/portal and submit a support ticket, or send an email to support@styku.com.
- In your message, state that you purchased a pre-owned Styku scanner and need a license transfer.
- Include all the business details listed above in your message.
- A support agent will review your request and pass your information to the Styku sales team.
- The sales team will contact you directly to complete the transfer and discuss subscription options.
What Happens Next
Once your information is sent to the sales team, they will reach out to you — typically within 1 business day. They will confirm the transfer and provide details about your new subscription.
You do not need to do anything with the scanner hardware or software until the sales team confirms the license transfer is complete. Per Styku's license terms, you must follow the recommended download, activation, and installation procedures for each software product — failure to do so constitutes a breach of the license agreement.
Once your new license key is issued, you can activate Styku Studio by launching the software on the permitted hardware and logging in to your Styku account when prompted. If you also need to view scan profiles on an additional Windows computer, you can request a separate viewing license key through the Business Portal at styku.com/portal, and Styku will generate one for you.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
