How do I set up the Styku X2L scanner on the mat?

Overview

Once the tower is assembled and you have chosen a location, follow these steps to position all hardware on the setup mat and connect the cables.

Steps

1. Unroll the setup mat in your chosen location.
2. Feed the turntable USB cable and power cable through the designated holes in the mat, routing them underneath so they exit next to the turntable outline on the mat's surface.
3. Place the turntable on the mat in its marked position. Connect the USB and power cables to the turntable.
4. Place the assembled scanning tower on the mat in its marked position. Pull the tower's power brick and USB cable up through the holes in the tower base.
5. Connect the tower power cable to a wall outlet.
6. Connect both the tower USB cable and the turntable USB cable to the laptop (see the next article for correct port assignment).

Notes

• Routing cables under the mat before placing equipment keeps the workspace tidy and reduces trip hazards.
• Do not force cables through mat holes — if resistance is felt, check that the cable is not kinked underneath.
