How do I set up my Styku admin account and activate my license for the first time?
When your Styku scanner arrives, you need to create an administrator account in the Styku Studio software and activate it with your license key before you can scan. The whole process takes about 10 minutes and only needs to be done once.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- Your license key — a 25-character code printed on a card inside the accessories box that shipped with your scanner. It also appears in your Styku Business Portal and may have been emailed to you by your onboarding representative.
- Your Styku laptop, powered on and connected to the internet.
- A working email address to use as your administrator login.
If you cannot find your license key, log in to the Styku Business Portal at styku.com/welcome to register and retrieve it.
Step 1: Open Styku Studio
- On your Styku laptop, locate the Styku Studio icon on the desktop or in the Start menu.
- Double-click to open the application.
Step 2: Create Your Administrator Account
- On the login screen, select Create Account or Sign Up.
- Enter your name, email address, and a password of your choice.
- Confirm your password and select Create Account.
Keep a record of this email and password somewhere safe. You will use them every time you log in to Styku Studio.
Step 3: Enter Your License Key
- After your account is created, Styku Studio will prompt you to activate your software.
- Type or paste your license key into the activation field.
- Select Activate.
A confirmation message will appear when activation is successful.
Step 4: Complete Your Onboarding Checklist
Once activated, log in to the Styku Business Portal and complete Steps 1 through 4 of the onboarding checklist. This checklist covers training and setup tasks that will help you get the most out of your scanner from day one.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Cannot find your license key: Log in to the Styku Business Portal at styku.com/welcome or contact Styku Support to have it retrieved for you.
- "Invalid license key" error: Check that you have entered all characters correctly, with no extra spaces. The key is not case-sensitive.
- Activation fails or times out: Make sure the laptop is connected to the internet. Styku Studio requires an active internet connection to validate the license.
- Forgot your password after setup: On the Styku Studio login screen, select Forgot Password and follow the prompts to reset it via your registered email address.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
If the problem persists, contact support and include: your license key (or the email address used during purchase), the exact error message shown on screen, and whether the laptop is connected to the internet.
