How do I set, change, or reset my Styku Studio security PIN?
Styku Studio uses a 4-digit security PIN to protect access to client scan profiles and administrator settings. There are three ways to manage your PIN depending on your situation.
Option 1: Change your PIN (when you have access)
If you know your current PIN and want to update it:
- Open Styku Studio on your scanner laptop.
- Press the Settings button.
- Scroll down and select Accounts and Privacy Controls.
- You will be prompted for your administrator email and password — have those ready.
- Once logged in, scroll down to Set Security PIN and enter your new 4-digit PIN.
Option 2: Reset your PIN using the Forgot PIN link
If you have forgotten your PIN but can still reach the PIN entry screen:
- On the PIN entry screen in Styku Studio, tap or click Forgot PIN?
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity and set a new PIN.
Why does Styku Studio ask for a PIN?
Styku Studio V5 introduced a security PIN for each user account to protect client scan data. If you recently updated to V5 or your device was set up by someone else, you may not have been given a PIN — in that case, the Styku Software will prompt you to create a PIN.
Tips
- Write down your PIN and store it somewhere secure when you first set it.
- Set up the administrator account using a business email address rather than a personal one — this makes it easier to manage access when staff change.
- Make sure each staff member who operates the scanner has their own account and PIN.
- Keep a record of your admin email and PIN accessible to the business owner, not just the person who did the original setup.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
If the problem persists, contact support and include: your business name, scanner location, the email address associated with your Styku account, and a description of which step failed and what you see on screen.
