How do I reset my admin credentials in Styku Studio when the original setup person is no longer available?

If the person who originally set up your Styku scanner has left your business, you may find yourself locked out of the admin account in Styku Studio. Because admin credentials are tied to the email and PIN entered during setup, you cannot reset them on your own — you will need Styku Support to verify your ownership and reassign access.

Why This Happens

When Styku Studio is first set up, the person who installs and activates the software creates an administrator account using their email address and a PIN. If that person leaves and their email address is no longer active, you cannot log in or use the self-service credential update steps — even if you are the business owner.

Note that the administrator account is the same account used to access Advanced settings in Styku Studio — for example, to configure report pages or other restricted options — so losing access to it can affect day-to-day operations beyond the initial setup.

What Styku Support Will Do

Support will verify that you are the account owner, then coordinate a reset of the admin credentials so you can regain access. This process requires identity and ownership verification before any changes are made, to keep your scan data and member profiles secure.

How to Request a Reset

  1. Log in to the Styku Business Portal at your normal portal address.
  2. Navigate to the Support section and complete the ticket form to submit a request.
  3. In your ticket, include the following information:
    • Your full name and role (e.g., owner, manager)
    • Your business name and location
    • The email address you want to use for the new admin account
    • A brief description of the situation (e.g., "Former employee set up the account and is no longer with us")
  4. A Styku support agent will contact you — typically within one business day — to verify your ownership and walk you through the reset process.

Tips to Avoid This in the Future

  • Always set up the administrator account using a business email address that belongs to the company, not an individual employee's personal or work email.
  • Keep a secure record of your admin PIN and login credentials in a place accessible to the business owner.
  • Consider designating at least two people who know the admin email and password, so the business retains access if one person is unavailable.
  • If a key staff member leaves, contact Styku Support promptly to update admin credentials before access is lost.

If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.

If the problem persists, contact support and include: your business name, the email address believed to be associated with the admin account (even if you think it is inactive), the name of the person who originally set up the scanner, and your preferred new admin email address.
