How do I perform a Styku body scan from start to finish?

Overview

This article covers the full in-session scan procedure in Styku Studio, from the automated system check through scan acceptance.

Steps / Details

  1. Confirm the client is logged in via QR code authentication (see the pre-appointment preparation article).
  2. Tap Continue on the welcome screen to begin the scanning process.
  3. Styku Studio will automatically check the sensor and turntable connection and prompt an attire and hair review.
  4. Confirm the client is wearing fitted attire and has hair secured off the neck before proceeding.
  5. Prompt the client to step onto the turntable for a body weight measurement. Confirm the weight reading before moving on.
  6. Instruct the client to:
    • Face forward
    • Stand still
    • Follow the voice and on-screen prompts
  7. The scan will count down and then begin automatically. The turntable will rotate the client during the scan.
  8. Keep talking to a minimum while the turntable is rotating. Movement and conversation can introduce artifacts and reduce measurement accuracy.
  9. Once the scan is complete, results will begin processing. Use this time to walk through the built-in education cards (see notes below).
  10. When processing is complete, review the scan preview:
    • Accept the scan if results look good.
    • Scan again if there are visible artifacts or issues.

Notes

  • Education cards are available on-screen during processing. They explain why body shape matters beyond the scale and set expectations for the 3D results reveal. Use them to maintain a professional, consistent consultation flow without adding time.
  • After accepting a scan, you can log out immediately to keep high-volume days moving. The client will still receive their PDF report and mobile app data once sync completes.
  • If time allows, select View Scan Results after accepting to walk through results with the client in the same session.

If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.

If the problem persists, contact support and include: a description of the artifact or error, turntable and sensor connection status shown in Styku Studio, and the scan ID if available.
