Can I turn off the 'Wings' to scan someone who can't stand in the proper pose?

Can I turn off the "Wings" to scan someone who can't stand in the proper pose?

Styku Studio detects that a client is in the correct A-pose before starting a scan. For clients who cannot hold the standard position due to injury, mobility limitations, or other reasons, this detection can be disabled using the Bypass Posture Check setting.

Steps

  1. Press the View Profiles button in Styku Studio and enter your PIN to access the administrator view.
  2. Press Settings.
  3. Choose Scanner Hardware.
  4. Press the switch next to Self-Scan to turn it off. The switch turns grey when off.
  5. Choose Advanced.
  6. Enable Bypass Posture Check.
  7. Proceed with the scan.
  8. When the scan is complete, turn off Bypass Posture Check and turn Self-Scan back on.

⚠️ Remember to re-enable Self-Scan and disable Bypass Posture Check after the scan. Leaving these settings changed will affect the standard scanning workflow for subsequent clients.

Notes

  • Scans captured without the standard A-pose may produce less accurate measurements, depending on how the client is positioned.
  • This setting does not affect the infrared sensor — the scan is still safe for the client regardless of pose.

If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.

If the problem persists, contact support through the Styku Business Portal at styku.com/portal and include: your Styku Studio software version and a description of the positioning issue.

Applies to: Styku Studio V5, all Styku scanner configurations
