What to do if someone wants to cancel - Lease

To cancel a lease subscription a customer will need to pay a 2 month penalty and return the unit if the unit is not paid off after the 2 month penalty. You must determine what lease terms they have first. The first payment is typically paid up front and not recorded in Stripe

1. Determine the term length by searching for the Paycove invoice. Copy and paste the contact email address into Hubspot

2. Click into the contact

3. Click on the deal associated with the contact

4. Scroll the right column in the deals view down to the Paycove option

5. Click on the Paycove invoice link to view the invoice in Paycove and scroll down to the payment terms section. This will tell you how long the term length is.

6. Determine how many payments they made in Stripe by going to the customer profile. See Determining How Many Past Due Payments there are

7. If the number of payments made is less than the term after paying the 2 month penalty then the client needs to return the unit as they do not own the hardware. For example if 10 payments were made then the 2 month penalty  would put them at 13 months paid including the first month, If their term was for 22 months then they should return the unit. In the case where someone has 19 months paid and they want to cancel they pay the 2 month penalty which would put them at 22 month paid including the first month so they own the unit.

8. If the customer needs to return the unit then you should make return labels by creating an RMA.

9. Next step is to draft an invoice with an early cancellation product. On the customer page, click create next to invoices.

10. Create the invoice by finding the lease cancellation option. Make sure the amount is for two months of the software fee. Select automatically charge a payment on file.

11. Click the “Review Invoice button” in the top right corner

12. Click “Charge customer”

13. Go to the subscription and cancel it.
